Big drop in youth smoking in the Netherlands

Smoking among Dutch children and adolescents (under age 20) fell greatly between 2012 and 2013, from 11 percent daily smoking in 2012 to 9 percent in 2013, according to recent data.

A spectacular drop in daily smoking was seen among 16-year-olds: from 23 percent to 12 percent. The data comes from the Dutch Youth Smoking Monitor of the Trimbos Institute.
