People have died from tobacco-related diseases since the opening of the first FCTC working group on 28 October 1999.
This report by Corporate Accountability International (May 2012) "tells some of the individual stories that lie behind the staggering statistics, and it serves to remind us there is hard work yet ahead".
Fully titled, "Cutting Through the Smoke: Global stories of industry abuse, grassroots victories and the path toward a healthier future", the report also inspires, writes CAI Executive Director Kelle Louaillier:
"While the tobacco industry remains the greatest obstacle to saving lives, together, we can ensure that the public prevails over corporate abuse and greed."
