It is heartening to know that India has decided to implement the display of pictorial warnings on cigarette packs from 31stMay 2009. This indeed is a very important victory for tobacco control efforts, not only in India but also in the South East Asia Region. FCA looks forward to the Indian Government’s leadership on this issue. We apologise for the factual error in our Bulletin (March 2009) article ‘Pictorial Warnings – A Long Wait In South East Asia’ about the Indian Government not reaching a consensus on pictorial warnings and further delay and dilution.
